birth control and modelling paste

Had an interesting thing today...

Woke up early to go to my first gynocologist appointment. Had my first PAP test done. Did a pregnancy test as I am 1 week late. It's negative, whew! Finally got prescribed birth control at 25. Also got prescribed HPV vaccination, only when it was time to pay at the pharmacy it came out to $177! So I am like no biggie, my insurance will cover it. But lo and behold, I signed up for the ultra basic plan this year and they won't cover the first $1000 I spend on prescriptions, only thereafter. What is the logic in this?! Argh, health is priceless I suppose.

On the bright side, the gyno clinic turned out to be a family clinic as well. So there you have it, I finally have a family doctor (I was on a 6 month waiting list with another clinic). The doctor I saw was really kind as well, which is a very nice change from my old one from hell.

Other than that, I also picked up more gardening pots and shells and rocks at Dollarama. Tomorrow, I will go to Canadian Tire to pick up some soil and fertilizer. My little balcony garden experiment is really bringing me much joy! Despite my black thumb tendencies, I am learning and enjoying so much.

Also, I picked up modelling paste, brush soap and this magical thing called Kroma Crackle! I am excited to paint again! I even plan to paint my new plant pots!

The weather has been warm and humid, and really one musn't complain considering the long winter we go through every year. Life is beautiful and I am happy to be alive.

hats off

OK so my summer arsenal is definitely complete. Just scored this Brixton Tiller hat that's been sold out forever. Snagged the last one from Karmaloop, it was meant to be! Looks stunning on Natalie.

hello again

And the summer sales continue... I wonder if online shopping did not exist if I'd be that much richer and wiser, probably absolutely.

1. Levi's denim jacket. I have 3 already in different washes and fit, but none by Levi's (original gangsta).
2. Heather grey tank dress with raw hem, summer staple.
3. This bra in black. Have it, love it and wear it too often in nude. It's seamless, comfy and feels like nothing on.
4. Can never have too many white t-shirts. Another summer staple in pima cotton/ modal.

I think my summer arsenal is officially complete. Just need to find my Rayban clubmasters somewhere in my closet and I'm all set.

hello

It's been a humid day and I am flopped on the couch with the balcony door wide open as I type this. I hit up the summer sales trying my best not to make impulsive purchases, but really these two are synonymous. I wasn't too naughty I think. Below are two of the few I picked up.

H&M sandals, $15
I love the minimalistic look, plus the velcro ankle straps is user friendly.

Zara tribal print dress, $40
I first saw this in the winter/spring time and vowed to buy it when it went on sale. Ten bucks is better than nothing I guess.

fyi. Fluoro pink nail polish is "Shrimply Divine" by Sally Hansen :)
